Office IT-Partner is an independent IT provider chain with outlets in most of the larger towns in Sweden and provides IT services to all kinds of businesses, from one-man operations to major groups. What all its customers have in common is that they are looking for as efficient and worry-free an IT environment as possible. Many of them have therefore chosen Office IT-Partner’s cloud-based e-mail services, in which operation and protection of the email services is done over the network. In Västerås and many other Office IT-Partner offices, Norman Email Protection has been chosen to filter email traffic to and from the customers.

That Norman would be chosen as supplier was not self-evident to begin with. When you look at the market it appears that many suppliers offer good protection. But Norman’s solution stood out from the crowd on many points. For example, Norman offered the only example that could be “rebranded” with Office IT-Partner’s own trade mark.

“It is important for us to offer e-mail protection under our own name. Our customers are looking for a worry-free IT environment. They want to concentrate on their own businesses and not have yet another technical provider to keep track of,” says Kjell Gabrielsson, head of the cloud-based network at Office IT-Partner in Västerås.

Being able to use its own trade mark means that the IT provider can create its own unified interface with its customers that can be maintained when new versions are installed or when security reports are generated, which lessens technical stress in itself. An advantage of placing email protection with the IT provider is that it functions as a storage solution. If an accident occurs, Norman Email Protection buffers all email traffic, so that it can be collected when the system is restored.

Office IT-Partner operates most of its customers’ email filters. But some have chosen to install the protection on their own servers.

“For those who wish, it is easy to install the system themselves. Unlike other solutions, the installation is in Swedish, just like Norman’s other support; in practice this not only simplifies things but also improves security,” concludes Kjell Gabrielsson.
