Two critical updates for Microsoft systems in December 2010

In its security bulletin summary for December 2010 Microsoft has published two updates for critical, 14 updates for important, and one update for moderate vulnerabilities in its operating systems / applications.

Critical is Microsoft's highest vulnerability rating.

The critical updates address the following issues:

  • Three publicly disclosed and four privately reported vulnerabilities in Internet Explorer.
  • Several privately reported vulnerabilities in Windows Open Type Font (OTF) driver.

Updates that fixes the vulnerabilities are available from Windows automatic update mechanism for systems that support this. Alternatively, one may download updates from http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com.
