Norman has a system that generates an authentication key for our products based on a special OEM-code that has to be entered in a web form.
This authentication key is sent to the end user's email address.
In some instances the person who installs the program does not know the end user's email address (or such an address does not exist yet).
To circumvent this potential problem, there is a special way that the reseller can get the authentication key sent to his/her own email address in addition to the end user's.
Follow this procedure:
In the required field in the webform that the end user's email address is entered type the following:
In these circumstances a special syntax may be used in the email field:
customer_name@customerdomain.com>installername@installerdomain.com
The effect of this is that an email with the authentication code is sent to the customer’s email address (as usual). The ’>’ character ensures that another email is sent to the installer’s email address. The latter has information in the subject field about the customer’s email address.
